Events throughout the year include:

What's Happening in the Children's Department?
Take a walk upstairs to see the newly refurbished preschool classroom. Thanks to a gift in memory of Ryan Matthew Kanost, the room has a fresh look with new books, toys, and a family living area.
Ryan would have been 27 this October. As a young boy he enjoyed time spent in the preschool class here at First United Methodist Church and his parents wanted to help make it possible for other young children to experience the joy their son did as a preschooler here. Amy and Andy Marble have refinished a wooden kitchen set and Tom Clark has built a bookcase unit to house the books and toys. Come upstairs and have a look.
The children in both the elementary and preschool classes are continuing to learn about Bible Heroes and Heroines from the Old Testament. Fascinating stories of people like David, Jonah, Jacob, Queen Esther, and others teach important lessons of faith and our relationship to God. Classes begin at 9:00 am eachSunday with Bible study followed by music time.
We can always use teacher and helpers. The curriculum is easy to use and the experience of working with the children is delightful and rewarding. Contact the church office at 520 622-6481 for information to volunteer.
Wanted: Sunday School Teachers
Our pre-K and elementary Sunday School classes have been growing and enriching our children all year long. They have lots of fun and opportunities to express their natural curiosity about God, Jesus, and other great heroes of the Bible.
If you have a interest in teaching the pre-K or elementary class during the 2011-2012 school year, or would like to participate with Youth in Action, please contact the church office at 520 622-6482 for further information. The curriculum and any guidance you might desire will be provided.
