Established in 1879,
First United Methodist Church of Tucson
is Tucson's oldest Protestant church

First United Methodist Church of Tucson is a fellowship of seekers, finders and sharers. In addition to Sunday worship services and Sunday School, we offer many opportunities for fellowship, volunteer service and community outreach.

 * Tyndall Avenue Construction - Construction on Tyndall Avenue will affect access to First Church and parking in Tyndall Garage this summer. Entry to the church is via University or North Park during the week (can't make a left onto Park from 6th). Tyndall Parking Garage is open and available on Sundays. See map for details.

 * Public Education Crisis - John Wesley called upon his followers to be involved in social justice and social issues. Learn how budget constraints are affecting public education in Arizona and what you can do to support Tucson's public schools. More on this important issue.

 * Crocodile Dock: Vacation Bible School - July 6-10 at First Church for kids 3-11. Download an enrollment form or sign up in the church office. Volunteers are still needed.

 * First Church on the Go - Upcoming events include concerts, outings, gatherings and more. Click here for details.

 * Matinee at the Movies - Every Tuesday at 12:00 noon, First Church friends gather and enjoy a movie at the Crossroads Theater, Crossroads Festival at the corner of Grant and Swan. (Movies are only $1 on Tuesdays.)

 * The Trial of the Century: First Church member Walter Michael recalls attending the infamous Scopes trial in Dayton, Tennessee, 84 years ago. The famous case pitted Clarence Darrow against Williams Jennings Bryan arguing over the teaching of evolution in Tennessee schools. Walter Michael, now 101, told his story to the AZ Star's Bonnie Henry.

 * Food Drive - Bring non-perishable food items to church on the fourth Sunday of every month. Food will be donated to the Tucson Community Food Bank.
